Vote No on Strongsville City School System's Issue 25 Renewal Levy

Recently my wife and I received a professionally crafted four-page letter regarding Issue 25 (complete with charts and childish cartoon depictions) paid for by Continue the Excellence which represents the Strongsville City School System's Board of Education.
It's supposed to be a tough counteraction aimed at discrediting the Strongsville GOPs resistance to their second attempt at another excessive school levy this coming March 19th. The same levy, by the way, that Strongsville voters failed to pass (in large measure) last November.

It reads like a boatload of School Board self-justification to me. My overall reaction is, rather than diminish Strongsville GOP's well-reasoned financial assessment aimed at defeating the levy, the letter inadvertently clarifies Strongsville GOP's assertion that this actually is bloated school levy abuse.

It's difficult to believe that any rational Strongsville tax paying resident would vote for this punishing renewal. Self-admitted facts: The School Board had a $9 million-dollar surplus last year and also has a whopping $71 million excess sitting in their bank accounts. Holy cow! Read that last part again and let it really sink in.

Once again, the Strongsville School Board is gold digging residents. My wife and I have lived and paid taxes in Strongsville for 39 years and we support good public school education. In fact, both of our daughters benefited from attending grades 1 through 12 here. But hey, enough is enough! And Issue 25 is way, way past enough. We are VOTING NO on Issue 25. You should as well. We also urge you to discuss this serious matter with your friends and neighbors.

VOTE NO on Issue 25.
